WHY DO WE OBJECT?

Why we object to the development:

  • The sheer size of the master plan does not take into consideration the existing infrastructure and services within the village and local surroundings. Effectively building a development equivalent to an additional quarter of East Goscote, without any provision of extra amenities

  • The development would harm the loss of identity between the Wreake Valley Villages.

  • Concerns about a significant increase in traffic numbers along Melton Road, as 300 new homes, will bring an average 2 cars per household, adding an additional 600 cars to the surrounding roads

  • We have concerns upon the site in regards to diverse wildlife already dwelling on the agricultural land.

  • We think that there has been a clear lack of publicity about the development. It is a disgrace that residents only received an information booklet about the public consultation on the Monday 5th March, two days prior to the meeting. Also, the publication in the Melton Times was the day after the consultation meeting. Not allowing residents in the village or neighbouring to have the opportunity to see the plans, have their voices heard or questions answered by Gladman representatives.
